The One
Kiera Cass
The time has come for one winner to be crowned. When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown--or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose-and how hard she'll have to fight for the future she wants.
Warning: May contain little spoilers.
One of the reasons why I loved reading the "The Selection" series was because of the length of the reading. It was short and concise but was able to give the readers just enough. I loved the story, I loved the characters, I LOVED the covers, I loved the details, I pretty much loved it all.
Until the last parts of this book.
Here we are when Maxon learns about Aspen (it's not a spoiler. Come on guys, we all knew it was going to happen) and shit goes down, and all of a sudden, we're back to happy land (If that's what it should be called?).
The end was soooo rushed. There was no time for the last part of the plot to be developed. It seemed like another problem was suddenly tossed in and then a few pages later BAM! We're back and everything's solved because who knows why. I thought that maybe it was just me, and that maybe I didn't read carefully enough. However after reading it several times through, my thoughts were the same.
Nooooo! Caaaaaass, why must you do this?!
There should have been a gradual increase to the conclusion! There should have been more detail towards the end! Nothing should have been rushed!
The reason why I'm not going down to a rating of 3/5 is because I loved the story and fell in love with America, Maxon, and the dresses.
Oh, the dresses!
I will have dresses like these in the future. I plan on it!

I also loved the whole color scheme going on. I mean, come on: the blue cover (The Selection), the red cover (The Elite), and the white color (The One)? Brilliant! I didn't even notice until after a few had pointed it out to me!
This book... uuugh. I really am upset about the way the ending of The One took place. I got angry and mourned it for days...
I still recommend it nonetheless!
My Rating:
1/5 I didn't like it
2/5 It was okay
3/5 I liked it
4/5 I really liked it
5/5 It was amazing
