Roomies
Lindy Zart
Let me just put it out there that the ONLY reason I didn't finish this book in one sitting was because it was the opening night of the show I was in that day. If it weren't for that minor pause, this book would have been devoured by my eyes in less than a day.
I loved this book. It was so snarky and definitely lived up to the expectations of the Rom-Com genre. Lindy Zart was able to capture the imperfect life of Kennedy Somers, who is nowhere near perfect.
You know how you usually either hate a character, or really like them? Well, you won't find many characters like that in the story. Kennedy is one of those characters that you can like and dislike at the same time. Sometimes I laughed at (or with!) her, and sometimes I got pissed and wanted to smack her. But overall, I found her to be very lovable and hilarious. And don't get me started on Graham and Blake... #hottiealert!
This book was so fresh and fun! It was like eating popcorn: it was light, airy, and I couldn't stop "eating" it. The interesting part? There were times within the book where things were serious, but there was still some humor to it, and it worked. It freaking worked. Lindy was able to find a balance point between the two contrasting themes and made it so that they wouldn't clash. I was SO impressed at that!
I just can't tell you how much I stinkin' loved this book. I mean, I was expecting it to be awesome because it's Lindy Zart we're talking about, but I was still blown away! It was sooo funny, the characters were relatable, and it was suspenseful enough to keep me going to the end of the book. I am still suffering a book hangover... *sobs* I can't get over how AMAZING this book was! Oh, and can we take a moment to admire the cover of this book? Like, the vibe the cover gives matches the vibe you get while reading. PERFECT.
I'm most likely going to read this book again. And suffer a book hangover on top of my current book hangover (which is because of this book, may I add).
I would definitely recommend this book. DEFINITELY.
My Rating:
1/5 I didn't like it
2/5 It was okay
3/5 I liked it
4/5 I really liked it
5/5 It was amazing
